How the calculations work

Each monthly report is calculated directly from the raw meter readings in the source data files. The figures are not taken from the summary formula cells in those files — several of which contain known errors — but are computed independently from the individual meter readings themselves.

Water supplied is taken from the CLUB LANZAROTE master meter, which records all water entering the community from the Club Lanzarote mains network. This is the single source of truth for total supply.

Villa consumption is the sum of individual meter readings across all 128 properties, calculated as current reading minus previous reading for each villa. Where a meter reading is lower than the previous period (indicating a meter reset or data entry error), that villa's consumption is treated as zero rather than a negative value.

Communal consumption is the sum of eight communal sub-meters: Depuradora (water treatment plant), Casa Services, Showers, Reception, Terrace 1, Terrace 2, Swimming Pool, and Garden Irrigation.

Unaccounted water loss is the remainder: Supply minus Villa consumption minus Communal consumption. This represents water that entered the community but cannot be attributed to any metered point — indicating leaks, pipe losses, or unmetered usage.

Two additional meters appear in the source data — CONTADOR ENTRADA and CONTADOR SALIDA — which measure water flowing into and out of the community's storage deposit (buffer tank). These are deliberately excluded from all calculations. All water passing through the tank has already been counted in the CLUB LANZAROTE supply total, so including the tank meters would result in double-counting. The tank meters are infrastructure flow indicators, not consumption points.
